MTA Diaries...

If you had a smooth subway ride in this morning then count your lucky stars because my usual easy breezy 30min ride into work, became a 90min through the depths of hell excursion into work this morning. And when I finally made it in, I realized that half of my coworkers hadn't made it in either... Could they be stuck on the same rat trap of an N train as I was? Did I miss something? Oh wait, yes the MTA decided to cancel several trains, reroute lines, turn express trains into locals and make my commute in on a 90 degree day a living hell. Notice my paparazzi shot of the hot crowded mess. No it wasn't as bad as it looks.... It was worse!

Summer Loving....

On a regular day this would have the "Gag get a room" effect on me... but today (apparently one of my more sentimental days) this couple strolling the hot hectic summer streets in the city holding hands seemed to be the cutest thing.
Dodging FedEx workers, tourists, and grouchy new yorkers (such as myself on a normal day) they refused to let go... Now in unison.. "awwwwwwwwww" :)

Spontaneous Memories

After an awful, never ending, poke my eyes out kind of day, the first thing that usually pops into my mind is rushing home to a chilled glass of white wine. But midway through the "day from hell" I came across a quote that just made me smile... :) (Just an FYI - I'm completely obsessed with Quotes. They take your moments of "Inexplicable, don't know what to say" and turns them into "ahhh someone understands") I fell in love with it right away and felt the urge for a bit of "Ink Therapy" So I immediately called my partner in spontaneous crime Khadijat and clearly from the tone in her voice she was on the verge of poking her eyes out too. Neither of us could bare to wait and just needed to rebel a bit and get another tattoo together. So we immediately agreed to meet after work and head over to our favorite tattoo shop in Brooklyn!

We've arrived!!! Kat dives right into the cushy chair and gets started! The buzzing of that tattoo needle is oddly therapeutic. She side glances at me and I immediately knew the day just got THAT much better!

I hop in my chair on the other side of the shop anxious to start my art. Joey (my tattoo artist) sits me back tells me to relax and promises to be as "nice" as possible lol. There goes that buzzing...

My newest addition... A light at the end of those tunnels

Kat's latest addition... Excuse me while I kiss the sky xoxo

End result... a very happy couple of girls :)
